TOM MURPHY, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of RedwoodAge.com, has spent more than three decades in the news industry, including more than 20 years with several large, real-time news companies.

Mr. Murphy spent nearly a decade with The Associated Press in California; he was the first Bloomberg News Correspondent in Northern California; and he was the founding Managing Editor of MarketWatch.com, serving as a key architect of the news product that shaped MarketWatch into one of the most successful online media companies.
Mr. Murphy has since served as Editor-in-Chief of infoUSA.com (where he also served as Vice President for Product Development); Montgomery Research Inc.; Revenue magazine (which focuses on online affiliate marketing); Emerging Business magazine; and RedHerring.com.
He is the author of the book Web Rules: How the Internet is Changing the Way Consumers Make Choices (Dearborn, 2000). He earned his degree in journalism at the University of California at Berkeley.
